Ten of Pentacles
UPRIGHT
An old patriarch sits with two dogs at the gate of his estate, a couple and a child in the courtyard, ten pentacles arranged in the Tree of Life. The Ten of Pentacles is lineage — wealth that has stabilized into legacy, family rooted in place, the long view of material and generational continuity.
REVERSED
Reversed, the Ten of Pentacles is the legacy fractured, or the family wealth held at the cost of the family. The card can name an inheritance dispute, a household whose material comfort masks a deeper estrangement, or the querent's own reckoning with what was handed down and what should not be.
