Seven of Wands
UPRIGHT
A man on higher ground holds his staff against six others rising from below. The Seven of Wands is the defense of one's position — the ground held against challenge, the conviction kept when it would be easier to drop it. The card rewards courage and asks the querent to remember why they took the hill in the first place.
REVERSED
Reversed, the Seven of Wands is the position abandoned under pressure, or the defense maintained long past the point where the hill was worth holding. The card can name exhaustion, overwhelm, the small private decision that the fight is no longer one's own to wage.
