Seven of Pentacles
UPRIGHT
A farmer leans on his hoe, looking at the pentacles growing on a vine he has tended all season. The Seven of Pentacles is the pause to assess — the long view of work in progress, the patient evaluation of whether the labor is bearing what was promised. The card honors the question more than any particular answer.
REVERSED
Reversed, the Seven of Pentacles is the harvest disappointing, or the labor poured into the wrong field. The card can name a project that has not yielded, a career or investment whose return has not matched the effort, or the harder honesty of admitting that the vine was never going to bear what the querent had hoped.
