King of Pentacles
King of Pentacles
UPRIGHT
The King of Pentacles sits in a vine-grown throne, the carvings of bulls behind him, the towers of his estate visible past his shoulder. He is the steward of substance — the successful builder, the patron, the man who has made wealth and now uses it well. The card honors prosperity that has become responsibility.
REVERSED
Reversed, the King of Pentacles is wealth without wisdom, or stewardship turned to hoarding. The card can name a person whose success has narrowed him into greed, a patriarch who measures love in transactions, or the querent's own confusion of money for meaning. The estate is still there; the question is what it has been used to do.
