Four of Pentacles
UPRIGHT
A crowned figure sits clutching one pentacle to his chest, one balanced on his crown, two pinned beneath his feet. The Four of Pentacles is the grip — security built through holding rather than circulating, the prudence that has begun to look like clenching. The card honors caution while asking what the grip is costing.
REVERSED
Reversed, the Four of Pentacles is the grip loosened, sometimes by wisdom and sometimes by force. The card can name the willingness to spend, give, or risk something the querent had been hoarding, or the harder reading of a hoard slipping despite the effort to keep it pinned underfoot.
