Five of Wands
UPRIGHT
Five figures clash with raised staves in what looks more like a scrum than a war. The Five of Wands is competition, friction, the messy collision of wills in a shared field. The card rarely names true enmity; more often it speaks to the productive chaos of a meeting where everyone is talking at once because everyone has something at stake.
REVERSED
Reversed, the Five of Wands is conflict avoided when it should have been entered, or a scrum that has curdled into something nastier. The card can name a person who hangs back from healthy contention out of fear, or one whose competitive instinct has slipped past sport into resentment.
